The Highest Priest

Friends, I wanted to share something that’s been on my heart lately — something the Lord has been showing me. Have you ever heard about the priesthood of Melchizedek? If not, I really encourage you to take some time to read the book of Hebrews. It’s such a beautiful picture of who Jesus truly is — our Highest Priest.

“This Melchizedek was king of Salem and priest of God Most High. He met Abraham returning from the defeat of the kings and blessed him.”

Hebrews 7:1 NIV

“For it is declared: ‘You are a priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.’”

Hebrews 7:17 NIV

Jesus is not only our King — He is the Priest of priests, the One who stands forever between us and God. Because of the sacrifice He made for us, there’s no one higher, and nothing more that needs to be done to earn His forgiveness or love.

“And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.”

Hebrews 10:18

I felt Him saying:

“Alot of people that believe in Me, try appease themselves by reading me, but with eyes of knowledge and not of my Living Spirit, they don’t need to make these “sacrifices” to appease themselves for the wrong they have done. Similarly they attend a place of worship to appease themselves for the sin they have done, if they know me, the living me, they will repent and I will forgive them… there is no need for appeasement.”

Isn’t Jesus beautiful? It’s such a gentle reminder that His grace is enough, and His love is unchanging.

“But because Jesus lives forever, he has a permanent priesthood. Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”

Hebrews 7:24–25 NIV

“Now the main point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by a mere human being.”

Hebrews 8:1–2 NIV

Jesus is inviting each of us — yes, even right now — to draw closer to Him. To lay down the guilt, the striving, the “trying to be enough,” and just let Him love us. He wants your whole heart, not part of it — because when your heart is His, He fills it with peace, forgiveness, and joy that nothing in this world can take away.

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8:38–39 NIV

Friends, nothing — nothing — can separate you from His love. You don’t have to earn it. You don’t have to prove yourself. Just come as you are, and let His love and mercy wash over you again.

The Light shines in the darkness. The darkness has never been able to put out the Light.
