The Sacrifice
I’ve been asking Him for the past few weeks what Christmas is truly about… what message I can share that would bless others. For a while, there was silence — until tonight.
I was watching a Chosen Christmas special called “The Shepherd.” It tells the story of a shepherd who struggles to bring a spotless lamb for sacrifice to Bethlehem. There, he hears the angels’ announcement and becomes a witness to the birth of the Lamb of God. It’s based on Luke 2, and it’s genuinely beautiful and powerful. I really encourage you to watch it.
Near the end, I felt Him whisper to my heart:
“I’m the little Lamb wrapped in love for you — the sacrifice for all the wrongs you’ve carried. I love you so much. I love everyone this much.”
I couldn’t hold back the tears when I heard that.
This is what Christmas is about.
From the manger to the cross — all for you.
This is the good news: no matter who you are, no matter what you’ve done, or what you will do, He loves you. Always.
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
